Separation Anxiety

FAQ & Important Details About Our Program

Our online separation anxiety program is highly specialized, intensive, and totally customized to the needs of you and your dog. Results are permanent, and will truly be life-altering for your family, but success is entirely dependent on your commitment to the program.

We offer a free phone consultation for clients interested in starting our separation anxiety program; scroll down below to select a day and time that works best for you.

What can I expect from the free phone consultation?

You will have the opportunity to hear from our Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer about best practices for resolving separation anxiety. Our goal is to help clarify what causes separation-related behavior problems, why the things you have tried haven't helped and how to get started in the right direction. You will get the chance to learn all about how our intensive training program works and get answers to your burning questions. Because the conversation is limited to 30-minutes, we recommend that you come prepared with your questions.

How long will my training program take?

The initial alone training program is a 5-week commitment. Because each case is unique, we cannot predict how long it will take your dog to progress to your goals for them. Clients can expect to work at their dog's pace, which may involve multiple 5-week programs before graduating.

What if I am on a deadline?

If you cannot commit to a 5-week program, then we advise that you sign up for an initial consultation to discuss your specific situation. The initial consultation is a 60-75 minute virtual meeting with our Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer, who will be able to offer individualized recommendations for next steps.

How much does separation anxiety training cost?

Please contact us for pricing details – we'll be able to give you a more accurate quote once we have information on the severity of your dog's separation anxiety.

What days and times is my trainer available?

Dana has openings Sundays through Thursdays midday to early evening (eastern time). Availability for an initial consultation varies, so be sure to reach out as soon as possible.

What if I don't live in Atlanta?

No problem! All of your dog's alone training sessions are conducted online.

What kind of equipment do I need for training?

Clients must have access to a stable internet connection and laptop or tablet. Clients will be asked to download zoom onto their device for virtual meetings. Additionally, clients will need a device (laptop, phone, tablet, or home security camera) with video and audio capabilities for daily training with their dogs.

Why do I have to commit to suspending absences?

Clients participating in the intensive alone training program are asked to never leave their dog alone to the point of panic. This ensures that your dog makes the maximum progress possible. You can accomplish this by crowd-sourcing alone time for your dog, i.e. getting help to cover the times that you need to leave your dog alone. In doing so, you also give yourself back some immediate freedom and preserve your bandwidth for daily training.

Do I need to crate-train my dog in order to leave them alone?

If you are currently using a crate, then we can incorporate it in your training plan. However, it is not necessary to use a crate during training.

Is board and train available for my dog's separation anxiety?

Because separation anxiety can only be resolved in the safety and security of your own home, board and train is not an option.
