Dog Training Classes

We offer group training classes for both puppies and adult dogs at Spalding Animal Hospital in Peachtree Corners and Roswell Veterinary Associates.
Advance registration is required.

Peachy Puppy 101

Cost: $150 for 6 weeks
Who: Puppies between 8-16 weeks (we prefer that pups start between 8-10 weeks of age)

If you’ve recently brought home a new four-legged addition and want to get things started on the right paw, Peachy Puppy 101 is the perfect group class for you!

In just six weeks, we’ll cover all the basics you need to lay the foundation for a happy, confident puppy that will grow up to be a friendly, well-socialized adult dog.

We keep the class size small to ensure the safety and comfort of all our puppies, and to allow plenty of one-on-one attention for each family!

Our puppy classes are open enrollment, meaning you can join in at your earliest availability - no waiting! (If we have a completely full class, there may be a waitlist)

In addition to careful socialization with people and other dogs, we’ll cover:

  • Tips & tricks for raising a happy and healthy puppy
  • How to troubleshoot common puppy problems like nipping, chewing, potty training, crate training, and whining
  • Basic cues including sit, down, come, touch, and laying the foundation for loose leash walking
  • Preventing future behavior problems from developing

Note: Puppies must be up-to-date for their age on vaccinations in order to attend and will be require to present proof of vaccination.

Family Dog 101

Cost: $160 for 6 weeks
Who: Dogs over 5 months of age

The Family Dog 101 group class is designed as a training foundation for friendly, non-reactive dogs over 5 months of age, and will give you the skills you’ll need to set your dog up for future success.

From leash walking to an automatic recall, this class covers a ton of to valuable skills to ensure your pup is a well-mannered family member.

Each session will be filled with valuable cues, fun games, and training information that the whole family will find fun, informative, and practical for everyday life with your four-legged friend.

We’ll cover:

  • Cues including (but not limited to) sit, down, stand, stay, come, leave it, heel, close, and watch
  • An extremely reliable recall using a whistle
  • Loose leash walking
  • Scent games to bring out your dog's inner genius!
  • Troubleshooting common problems including pulling on leash, potty training, and jumping
  • Crate training
  • Preventing future behavior problems

Note: If your dog has displayed any aggressive behavior or excessive barking towards people or other dogs, this basic manners class is not an appropriate environment for your dog. Please contact us at to discuss the right training plan for you!

All families will be require to provide proof of dog’s up-to-date vaccinations.

Therapy Dog Prep Class

Cost: $160 for 6 weeks
Who: Dogs over 1 year of age

Dreamed of training your dog for therapy work?

A pet therapy certification opens the door for you and your dog to work with children, the elderly, in hospitals, and more.

Our Therapy Dog Prep Class is designed to prepare you and your dog to take a therapy dog certifying test.

A group class is required prior to taking the certifying test, and this class is designed to fully prepare you for it. We are proud to have never had a dog we’ve trained and approved fail the qualifying test.

Class Items Include:

  • Sit/Stay, Down/Stay, and Recall from Sit or Down
  • Walking on loose leash with you, with a stranger, and through a crowd
  • Walking with distractions
  • Fun tricks you can utilize on therapy visits.
  • Teaching your dog to rest her chin on a person's lap on cue.
  • Other test items relevant to the Happy Tails test.
  • Optional: students may opt to take the Canine Good Citizen test on the last day of class.

Prerequisite: Family Dog 101 or private training

Reactive Dog Class

Cost: $260 for 5 weeks
Who: Dogs that bark and lunge at people and/or other dogs on leash.

Our reactive dog class is a highly specialized class created for dogs that are reactive on leash. You’ll get five small-group sessions, digital Q&A’s in between, and video critique by a trainer.

Animal Acting

Cost: $140 for 4 weeks
Who: Friendly dogs over 6 months of age. Prerequisite: Family Dog 101, private training, or trainer permission.

Think your dog has what it takes to make it to the big screen? This advanced class will teach you and your dog the obedience and tricks needed for animal acting, as well as get you a portfolio to be used for casting calls.

Behavior Bootcamp

Cost: $99 for 3 weeks
Who: Dogs over 16 weeks of age.

This short, highly structured class is for dogs looking for quick, intensive help on two of the biggest issues we see: leash walking and coming when called. Get your dog walking on a loose leash (even with distractions) and coming the first time you ask.
